Hyundai Creta EV Will Debut In Early January, Ready To Challenge MG ZS EV And Suzuki EVara

JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from South Korea, Hyundai will increase its electric vehicle (EV) line for the Indian market by introducing Creta EV as a competitor to MG ZS EV and Suzuki eVitara.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Thursday, December 5, the brand with the 'H' lopsided logo will officially introduce it next month through the Auto Expo 2025 which will be held 11-15 January.

From the outside, this car will have a design language similar to the Creta facelift which was just launched earlier this year with a quad-beam LED headlights, DRL LED horizons, sein LED lights on the front and back, as well as interconnected LED lighting.

Because this car is an electric vehicle, the model has changed with a closed gripper display. The front and rear bumpers are slightly changed, in line with the foundation of the SUV.

Several special EV branding elements are likely to be on the front, side and rear. Furthermore, Creta EV will also have a new set of rims with the same aero insertion as the Nexon EV facelift.

Not only is it just a visual refresher, the rim has an aerodynamic function that helps stabilize the vehicle. It is estimated that the Creta EV will be offered in 17 inches or 18 inches.

Meanwhile, the interior is equipped with the latest triple-barreled steering wheel such as Kona EV and a number of Hyundai electric vehicle lines. Then, the transmission transfer lever has been moved from the center of the console to the back of the wheel.

The center console is also redesigned by obtaining two cup holders, an electronic parking brake button, a cooled seat button, and a 360-degree camera.

It is estimated that the inside will have a number of standard features such as a state-of-the-art panoramic sunset, an 8-way driver seat, and a premium Bose audio system.

The Creta EV is likely powered by a 45 kWh battery pack from LG Chem and is expected to cover a distance of up to 300 km to 450 km in a fully charged battery state.

The battery will be connected to the electric motor from the latest generation of Kona EV, generating a power of 138 dk and a torque of 255 Nm.
