BYD Seal 06 GT Launches: Hatchback Sporty Ready To Develop Young Generation

JAKARTA - China's auto giant BYD has officially launched its newest sports hatchback, Seal 06 GT, which is ready to captivate the hearts of the younger generation in the Bamboo Curtain country.

Citing CNevpost, Monday, October 21, this hatchback has been opened for pre-sales since last August, at prices varying from 136,800 yuan or around Rp297 million to the most expensive model at 186,800 yuan (around Rp406 million).

Seal 06 GT is a production version of Ocean-M's concept which was stunning last April. This car was built on the latest BYD electricity platform, e-Platform 3.0 Evo. This is the first GT (Grand Tourer) model specially designed for young people," BYD said confidently.

This sporty hatchback comes in four variants, all carrying a dimensions of 4,630 mm, a width of 1,880 mm, a height of 1,490 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The highest variant carries a four-wheel drive with two motors, while the other variant relies on rear wheels driving with one motor.

Two affordable variants rely on 160 kW powered rear motors with a torque of 310 Nm, capable of reaching 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. Another single version of the motor is 165 kW and 330 Nm torque, with the same acceleration.

For those who want more performance, the double motorcycle variant offers a combined 310 kW of power with a 510 Nm torque, up from 0-100 km/hour in just 4.9 seconds.

In addition to performance, Seal 06 GT is also superior within reach. The two lowest variants are equipped with a Blade battery made of lithium iron phosphate with a capacity of 59.52 kWh, which is capable of traveling a distance of up to 505 km (CLTC). While the other two variants carry a 72.96 kWh battery with a range of 605 km and 550 km (CLTC).

Not only that, fast charging technology is also embedded, allowing the battery to be charged from 30 to 80 percent in just 20-22 minutes. The embedded smart driving feature makes Seal 06 GT more attractive to today's riders.
