JAKARTA - An automotive brand from England, Mini has officially expanded its newest generation of Cooper ranks by introducing a Convertible version with the hallmarks of the openable roof.

According to the brand, the Cooper roof can be folded fully open in just 18 seconds which allows users to feel the wind and the heat of sunlight.

Our new 'Cooper Convertible' offers a distinctive and distinctive driving pleasure, coupled with incredible infinite freedom and emotion,' said Head of Mini Brand Stefan Richmann on BMW Group's official website, Thursday, October 10.

The car carries a four-seater configuration with an open roof combining space-efficient proportions with driving pleasure.

In design, this model has similarities to other versions of Cooper. The front light looks wider with two horizontal lines at the top and under the lights.

Also on the back changed, Mini pinned the latest back light which was smaller and formed a triangle. This is clearly different when compared to its predecessor who used a large oval light.

Mini Cooper Convertible has rims measuring 16 inches to 18 inches depending on the specifications of each market.

The model can fold the roof automatically within 18 seconds with the car traveling at a speed of 30 km/h. Because the roof is made of light material, the Convertible version weighs 40 kg lighter than the standard version.

Then, the trunk offers up to 215 liters of space or 5 liters more relieved than the hardtop version. But if the roof goes down, then the back capacity becomes 160 liters but enough to put items like backpacks.

Mini Cooper Convertible comes in pure gasoline (ICE) with two choices of powertrain. For the Cooper C Convertible version, it has a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine measuring 161 dk and a 250 Nm torque.

As for the S Convertible variant, this car has the same engine with a larger power of up to 201 dk and 300 Nm torque.

These two variants carry front wheels through dual-clutch transmission and are not available in manual versions. The S Convertible version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 6.9 seconds or 0.3 seconds later than the hatchback version.

The model will be assembled at the Oxford, UK plant and will be launched into the market in early January 2025 starting from US$33,950 to US$37,200 (Rp531.7 million to Rp582.6 million) for Uncle Sam's country.
