JAKARTA - In the midst of the trend of electric vehicles and advanced technology, a startup actually chooses to reminisce by presenting a naturally assisted V12 engine hypercar and manual transmission. He is Nilu, an automotive designer Sasha Selipanov, who was previously involved in prestigious projects such as Bugatti Chiron, Koenigsegg CC850, and Lamborghini Hurac total.
Nilu comes with a V12 6.5 liter naturally assisted engine capable of generating up to 1070 stances and 860 Nm torques paired with a manual transmission of seven accelerations. A combination that is rarely encountered in the modern hypercar era, where super high power and complex traction systems become standard.
Nilu's presence is a dream come true; a moment so deep that it is difficult to express in words. The vision is the result of decades of searching, sleepless nights, years of overthinking and over-analyzing. I am fortunate to be able to learn and contribute to the best industry; now the team and I are very excited to realize all these visions and knowledge," said Sasha Selipanov on Nilu's official website.
Launching Car and Driver, August 8, Nilu's exterior design carries a classic supercar style with sharp lines and aggressive curvature. The back of the car features an open V12 engine, reminiscent of the epoch of the glory of GT40 racing cars. While its interior prioritizes simplicity with a focus on manual transmission levers and classical instruments, without any dominating touchscreens.
Sasha Selipanov herself targets limited production of 15 units for the track-focused variant, followed by 54 units for the highway variant. The plan, Nilu will make a public debut on August 15 in the Monterey Car Week 2024 event. The price and availability of this car has not been officially announced.
Nilu is proof that there is still a market for pure gasoline-powered vehicles with more direct and emotional driving experience.
