JAKARTA - Rumored to have existed for a long time, certainty regarding the launch time of the Hyundai Creta EV has finally been revealed. The manufacturer said that this compact-dimensional SUV will arrive at the Indian market starting in early 2025.

"I think we used all the lessons from selling Ioniq 5 and more, because as you know, we will launch Hyundai's first high volume EV, in early January 25," said Hyundai Motor India Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tarun Garg, quoted from Autocar India, Tuesday, June 11.

Thus, Hyundai Creta EV will arrive ahead of the launch of an electric car from rival Suzuki with the EVX. Previously, several times the car was caught on camera passing on Indian roads for intensive testing.

The car will have a similar design language to the Creta facelift which was just launched earlier this year with a quad-beam LED forward light, DRL LED horizon, sein LED lights on the front and back, as well as interconnected LED lighting.

Because this car is an electric vehicle, the model has changed with a closed gripper display. The front and rear bumpers are slightly changed, in line with the foundation of the SUV.

Several special EV branding elements are likely to be on the front, side and rear. Furthermore, Creta EV will also have a new set of rims with the same aero insertion as the Nexon EV facelift.

Not only is it just a visual refresher, the rim has an aerodynamic function that helps stabilize the vehicle. It is estimated that the Creta EV will be offered in 17 inches or 18 inches.

The interior will be decorated with several standard features, such as an infotainment display and an interconnected instrument cluster, a ventilated chair at the front, a state-of-the-art panoramic sunset, an 8-way driver seat, and a premium Bose audio system.

The Creta EV is likely powered by a 45 kWh battery pack from LG Chem and is expected to cover a distance of up to 300 km to 450 km in a fully charged battery state.

The battery will be connected to the electric motor from the latest generation of Kona EV, generating a power of 138 dk and a torque of 255 Nm. Details regarding the highest speed, charging time, and acceleration will be announced further.
