BMW Launches I5 EDrive40 M Sport Electric Car For The Indonesian Market, Take A Peek At Its Advantages

JAKARTA - BMW Group Indonesia has officially introduced its newest electric sedan, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, as part of the company's commitment to expanding the reach of environmentally friendly vehicles in the Indonesian market.

BMW Group Indonesia President Director Ramesh Divyanathan stated that the presence of this luxury car was a step forward from the company's positive trend as the leader of the premium electric vehicle segment in Indonesia, which reached 61 percent last year.

"We are proud to present the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, which offers a unique, dynamic, comfortable, and fully electric driving experience, which increases BMW's signature driving advantage to a new level," Ramesh said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, March 26.

This model is an electric version of the eighth generation Series-5 which was introduced globally in mid-2023. With a length of 5,060 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,515 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, i5 offers a wide space and maximum comfort for its users.

The exterior design of this car reflects sophistication, with BMW's headlights and Grills. 20-inch rim M aerodynamics wheels 939 M Bicolour Black Gray and Dark Blue Metallic M Sport brakes highlight their dynamic characteristics.

In the cabin, the i5 eDrive40 M Sport is equipped with advanced features, including the BMW Digital Key Plus, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 14.9-inch central touch screen with support from the wireless and Android Auto Apple CarPlay, as well as wireless charger Qi.

In terms of safety, this car is equipped with a Driving Assistant Professional package, which includes various features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane centering assists, and others.

The i5 performance is supported by a single electric motor at the back which is capable of producing 340 dk of power and 430 Nm of torque. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 6 seconds with a maximum speed of 193 km/hour.

In addition, i5 is powered by an 81.2 kWh battery that allows cars to cover a distance of up to 582 km based on the WLTP value. AC 22 kW and DC fast-charging charging capabilities up to 205 kW ensure users can charge quickly and efficiently.

Although official prices have not been announced, BMW promises that i5 eDrive40 M Sport will be available across the official dealer network starting April 2024.
