DarkRebel Cupra, Electric Concept Car Built From The Obsession Of Many People

JAKARTA - One of the electric concept cars that stole the show at the IAA Munich 2003 exhibition is DarkRebel from Cupra, a Spanish automotive brand owned by Volkswagen.

Cupra introduces concept cars that go beyond the boundaries in its design world and performance. DarkRebel is the real result of the first fully created car in a virtual space.

On the company's website, it says the car was created using more than 270,000 images from the Cupra Tribe configurator, which is fully online and digital-based including collaboration with celebrities and ambassadors from its brand such as FC Barcelona player Alexia Putellas, Marc ter Stegen, Ansu Fati, and including actor Daniel Bröhl.

All data collected from Virtual Hyper Configurator is integrated into DarkRebel's final design. The result is a two-seat 100% electric sports car with an impressive shooting brake (wagon) architecture.

The sharp and radical front display of the vehicle is centered by the signature of the iconic triangular light from the Cupra that appears from the body, making this car more lively. This car has dark purple outer paint spinning and can change color depending on how environmental light touches the vehicle body.

"Thanks to Cupra Tribe's passion and creativity, we have been able to realize one of the car design obsessions into a real concept car. DarkRebel is the maximum provocation of Cupra design. This is a rebel with the aim of: proving that future electric cars can be sexy and emotional," said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA.

While key elements in the cabin are lighting. DarkRebel has a steering wheel that turns on with the same part - like the controls on fighter jets or like racing game steering. The gear mover is made of exclusive glass, which also lights up and invites touch.

In addition, the interior of the EV also combines several sustainability innovations with the use of 90% of biodegradable bamboo into trim interiors, while 3D printed components, such as a spider-shaped center console, help reduce excesses and waste in production.

There is no information yet on whether this concept car will enter the production stage. DarkRebel is claimed to be the strongest concept car ever made by this brand, with more than 450 (peak power) stances and capable of reaching speeds of 0-100 km/hour in less than 4 seconds.
