Jokowi Angry At The Cabinet Session In Today's History, 18 June 2020

JAKARTA - Today, two years ago, June 18, 2020, President Joko Widodo expressed his annoyance in front of a cabinet meeting at the State Palace. He was angry because his ministers did not have a sense of crisis. In fact, the condition of the country is in dire straits by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the ground, Jokowi's ministers have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic like an ordinary problem. The health and economic sectors are the most highlighted issues. Jokowi wants state officials to work extra. Not common.

The COVID-19 pandemic brings deep sorrow to all Indonesian people. The virus from Wuhan, which officially entered Indonesia in March 2020, has an impact on all fields. Everything is affected. Many companies are losing money. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), moreover.

All because efforts to break the COVID-19 chain have not been maximized. This does not mean that the Indonesian government is not trying. The Indonesian government has issued many steps to break the chain of COVID-19. From the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), to the relentless campaign for health protocols.

However, the owner of the policy admits that this step is not effective. President Jokowi is aware of it. He was also angry with his ministers who considered COVID-19 matters as an ordinary matter. In fact, the destructive power of COVID-19 is not only to health, but affects the lives of many people.

Jokowi was unable to contain his anger. The momentum of the 18 June 2020 cabinet meeting at the State Palace was used as an event to awaken the ministers. So that they remain in one command. These officials must have the same sensitivity. Because, Indonesia's condition is not good.

“I see a lot of us who think this is normal. If I see that there are still Mr, Mrs and Brothers who see this as normal, it is very dangerous. Work is still mediocre. The work must be extra extraordinary, it must be extraordinary. This feeling please the same. We have to feel the same, if there is a difference even one is dangerous."

"So our actions, our decisions, our policies, the atmosphere must be an atmosphere of crisis. Do not mediocre policies, consider this a normality. What is this. There should be everything in that atmosphere. Don't wear standard things in a crisis situation. Crisis management is different. If there is a need for a Perpu policy, I will issue a Perpu," said Jokowi as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube channel, which was uploaded on June 28, 2020.

Jokowi's irritation continues. He revealed that spending at the ministry is still at a mediocre level. According to him, the condition was unreasonable.

Jokowi also appealed to all ministry spending to be accelerated. All for the realization of economic recovery. If necessary, Jokowi is ready to issue a Presidential Regulation for that.

“For example, I will give an example. The budget for the health sector is Rp 75 trillion. Just out 1.53 percent, try it. The money circulating in the community brakes all over there. Immediately it is issued with targeted uses so that it triggers the economy."

“Payment of allowances for doctors, specialists, medical personnel, should be issued immediately. Expenses for equipment were issued immediately. This has provided Rp 70 trillion. The social assistance that the community has been waiting for, immediately issue it, if there is a problem, take field actions. Even though it's good enough, it's new. This is extraordinary. It should be 100 percent," Jokowi added.
