Hammersonic, Who Became More Fierce With The Attendance Of The Testament

JAKARTA - After this year's absence, the biggest metal festival in Southeast Asia, Hammersonic, was held again on March 27-28 2020 at Carnaval Beach, Ancol. Metalheads will be satisfied because ambassadors from various parts of the metal genre will be brought specifically for this festival. And since the promoter announced the line-up one by one last November, fans of loud music have been excited.

Black Flag, Sinister, Lacuna Coil, Suicide Silence, Polaris, Vulvodynia, Crossfaith, Uncured, Stillbirth, and Trivium are confirmed to be joining the event. In addition, the band from Iowa, United States, Slipknot, became the main lineup of Hammersonic performers and became the most eagerly awaited. The promoter also presents actions from Indonesia, where so far only DeadSquad, Burgerkill and Killing Me Inside Reunion have been confirmed.

With the theme Rise of the Empire, the promoter hopes to present a more fierce concept with new energy that can be accepted by metalheads. In a press conference held on Thursday, December 19, at Hard Rock Cafe, Jakarta, Ravel Junardy as CEO of Hammersonic shared a number of stories and preparations for the event.

For the line-up selection, they claim to have a capable digital and collective team. They saw what was being discussed, one of which was the Killing Me Inside Reunion reunion stage at a concert event last October. This led the team to include Killing Me Inside Reunion in the local line-up. Besides that, DeadSquad and Burgerkill are well-known metal bands in Indonesia, so it is definitely mandatory to include them in their line-up.

Especially for Slipknot, metal fans are waiting for this numetal champion as the headliner. Ravel admitted, it was not difficult to invite them to Jakarta.

"Initially their management wanted to make (some kind of) a rock festival in Jakarta. I just offered Slipknot to play at Hammersonic. Because (I) had brought the artist (Megadeth) under their management, so it was not difficult (to bring Slipknot), "said Ravel, who also explained that Corey Taylor et al did not propose complicated riders.

Despite monitoring from social media, Hammersonic still sees portions of each genre. They also felt that the line-up selection announced so far could be accepted by all groups because from legends to young people participated in this event.

"It's crazy! As far as I play with these kids, Onad and Raka, this stage is the biggest festival we have ever played," Sansan as the Killing Me Inside Reunion member felt happy when he played in this event. For him, just one stage with well-known metal bands is satisfying. For that he promised the best performance for Hammersonic.

Thursday afternoon, Hammersonic also announced via their social media accounts that American thrash metal giant Testament would headline the second day. But, it doesn't stop there. Because other bands will continue to be announced gradually.

The organizer will open the sale of pre-sale tickets for stage 2 for IDR 1,700 thousand and normal tickets with information that will be announced in the near future.
