JAKARTA - Former guitarist for the heavy metal band Manowar, Karl Logan, faces a sentence of at least 25 years in prison. In a federal courtroom he admitted to downloading and storing child pornography videos.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Logan, 55, was arrested in August 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with six counts of third degree exploitation of minors.
He was jailed after pleading guilty to two counts of child pornography. The alleged Logan breach occurred between 18 June 2018 and 2 August 2018.
The arrest warrant said Logan had several videos depicting girls aged between four and 12 engaging in multiple sexual acts with unidentified men.
Each video is described in graphic detail, including one in which a girl ages 10-12 "chokes and becomes visibly upset."
The case was transferred to federal court, where a jury charged Logan last year with one count of each receiving and possessing child pornography videos, according to court documents.
A few days after Karl's arrest was announced, Manowar issued a statement saying Logan would no longer appear with them. Since then he has been replaced by EV Martel, who previously played in the tribute band Manowar.
Logan joined Manowar in 1994 as a replacement for David Shankle.
Prior to joining Manowar, Logan played with several bands in northeastern Pennsylvania, including Arc Angel and Fallen Angel.
Manowar was in the middle of The Final Battle world tour before it was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
