JAKARTA - Yayan Ruhian is confirmed to play in a revenge action fantasy film entitled Boys Kills World. Yayan will co-star with Bill Skarsgard, Samara Weaving.

The film was directed by Moritz Mohr, financed by Simon Swart and Wayne Fitzjohn of Nthibah Pictures ("Redeeming Love") and Alex Lebovici of Hammerstone Studios ("Bill and Ted Face the Music").

Producers Sam Raimi and Roy Lee announced that Boy Kills World is a unique action film set in the dream reality of a dystopian fever.

"Boy Kills World is set in a different dystopian world, combining real-world themes with fresh, cool and original styling, borrowing from the best graphic novels," said Nthibah Pictures CEO Simon Swart in a statement. .

"With a script that combines wildly innovative action sequences, a sense of humor, and a lot of crazy stuff, this film has the potential to become a worldwide hit and potential franchise."

This film tells the story of Boy, a deaf-mute with a vivid imagination. When his family is murdered, Boy flees into the forest and is trained by a mysterious shaman to suppress his childish imagination and turn him into a murder tool.

Skarsgård will play Boy and Yayan as the shaman who guides him. Meanwhile, Weaving will play an assassin named June 27.

Moritz Mohr is a German-born who attended film programs at UCLA before launching a commercial directing career. He made the short film "Boy Kills World" in 2018 and made a previsualization reel for the feature-length film version that caught Raimi and Lee's attention.

Mohr and Arend Remmers will write story ideas, with Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith ("Kung Fury: The Movie") writing the script. Production of "Boy Kills World" will take place in early 2022 in South Africa.

Skarsgård is best known for his role as Pennywise in the film "It", for which Lee produced. Weaving appeared in the lead role in the horror film "Ready or Not" and is currently shooting Damien Chazelle's limited drama Babylon alongside Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie.
