Chronology Of Saipul Jamil Imprisoned Until Pure Release

JAKARTA - Saipul Jamil had to go through a long journey in prison. This dangdut singer was accused of sexual harassment and obscenity that occurred in 2016. Saipul was reported to have committed sexual abuse by DS.

February 18, 2016 Saipul Jamil was declared a suspect. Saipul Jamil also tried to provide a defense, one of which filed a pretrial, although in the end Saipul Jamil withdrew the lawsuit.

The sexual abuse case committed by Saipul Jamil was handled by the North Jakarta Prosecutor's Office. Saipul Jamil's legal team is trying to apply for a suspension of detention when the obscenity case file has reached the prosecutor's office.

On June 14, 2016 Chief Justice Ifa Sudewi sentenced Saipul Jamil to 3 years in prison. Dewi Perssik's ex-husband received a lighter sentence than the public prosecutor's demands, which was seven years in prison.

Then, Saipul Jamil filed an appeal. But unfortunately, the DKI Jakarta High Court actually increased Saipul Jamil's sentence to 5 years in prison.

Saipul Jamil submitted a judicial review (PK) to the Supreme Court. PK was rejected and Saipul Jamil had to serve 5 years in prison. After going through the appeal stage, Saipul Jamil's sentence was reduced to five years.

The day after Saipul Jamil was sentenced, precisely on June 15, 2016, the KPK arrested the substitute clerk (PP) of the North Jakarta District Court (PN Jakut) Rohadi, regarding the reduced sentence of the dancer. Seven people were arrested at different locations, including the lawyer and Saipul Jamil's brother, Samsul.

He was proven to have bribed the panel of judges of the North Jakarta District Court, Rohadi, amounting to Rp250 million to give the lightest verdict on the obscenity case. In that case, Saipul Jamil was sentenced to three years in prison by the Jakarta Corruption Court in 2017.

After serving all the sentences, Saipul Jamil was free purely on September 2, 2021.
