JAKARTA - The film Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings will premiere on September 3. The film, starring Simu Liu and Tony Leung, is the first Asian superhero film produced by Marvel.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings roll out the red carpet at the film's premiere at Hollywood's El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, Monday, August 16.

Shang-Chi first appeared in the comic Special Marvel Edition no. 15 of 1973 by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin. For the film, Simu Liu will play Shang-Chi while Tony Leung will play Fu Manchu. In the trailer, actress Awkwafina is also seen appearing in this film.

According to the comics, Shang-Chi was shaped to become a strong kung fu man who could not be killed. His father, Fu Manchu, wanted Shang-Chi like that but Shang-Chi managed to get out of the evil circle.

Launching Vanity Fair, 10 rings or 10 rings are described as property worn by Shang-Chi's enemies, the Mandarin. But in Iron Man, the Ten Rings are the name of the Middle Eastern terrorist group that kidnapped Tony Stark in Afghanistan.

As a result, fans suspect Iron Man and Shang-Chi will have a relationship. The group's logo has similarities to the logo in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be one of the fourth phase of the MCU series. As for some rumors say Shang-Chi is the next Black Panther.

Marvel also started developing stories by looking for stories related to Asian culture. Besides Shang-Chi, there is the film The Eternals, which collaborates with several actors and actresses of Asian blood.

Kevin Feige as Marvel boss expressed his desire to bring superheroes with new colors, not just white men. The film Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings also stars Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Meng'er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.
