Minari Success, Youn Yuh Jung, Steven Yeun, And Han Ye Ri Become Oscar Awards Jury Members

JAKARTA - Several actors and staff of the film Minari received an invitation to join The Academy. Minari is a film that managed to steal the attention of international awards. This film tells the story of a Korean-blooded family who moves to the United States to start a new life.

Thanks to this film, actress Youn Yuh Jung made history as the first Korean actress to win a Best Supporting Actress nomination at The Academy or Oscar.

Thursday, June 1 U.S. time, the committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced they were inviting 395 artists and executives as part of this year's new members.

The three Minari film players namely Youn Yuh Jung, Steven Yeun, and Han Ye Ri and director Lee Isaac Chung received an invitation to become a new member of The Academy.

In addition, editor Harry Yoon, producer Christina Oh, and composer Emile Mosseri received similar invitations. Those who receive an invitation from the committee have the right to support nominations for the next Academy Awards.
