JAKARTA - Actress Lutesha was cast as the main character named Tari in the film 'Cerita Lila'. Unlike most horror films that only rely on jump scares, Lutesha said this film gives a very heavy drama burden that drains her energy.

"At first I thought, 'Okay, horror movie'. Then when I read the script, I saw the character, I read the story... Mas Bobby, why is it so emotional? It's really dramatic. From there I've been really scared," said Lutesha in South Jakarta, Friday, June 12.

Tari's character is portrayed as a mother who is facing various storms of life at the same time. Lutesha has to bring to life a figure who struggles against poverty, divorce, and the threat of losing custody of a child.

"The burden of Tari is that she is busy looking for money, how is Nia's school, how is Nia's custody, how is the lawyer's fee. On top of that, on top of that, it's like everything is buried," said Lutesha.

During the filming process, director Bobby Prasetyo continued to encourage Lutesha to maintain the intensity of his emotions. Some scenes even had to be repeated many times in order to get the right escalation of feelings.

"For reading, we always repeat several scenes and Mas Bobby I remember very well there is one sentence like 'escalation of Te's emotions, don't forget, don't let it go'. Thank God when filming it was just okay," he said.

One of the most memorable scenes is when her character loses control of herself. Lutesha admitted to feeling a very strong mixed feeling of wanting to protect the child but being helpless.

"I don't know why, Tari can't control himself. It's like he really wants to protect Nia, he wants to live for his son, but he can't do anything like that. His emotions just came out at that moment," he explained.

Although mentally quite exhausting, Lutesha feels satisfied because the production team pays close attention to the health of the crew and actors. He even admitted to being addicted to working with Bobby Prasetyo and Amrit Punjabi again.

"Addiction, because the scene is quite difficult in terms of technical scenes, but the sleep is enough and everything is safe in the workflow. That's the important thing, healthy shooting!" said the actress, who is familiarly called Ute.

Through this film, Lutesha proves his ability to bring the 'drahor' genre that balances between physical fear and inner sadness. He hopes that the audience can feel the struggle of Tari that he plays.

"Thank you for taking the time to watch the film Cerita Lila. Hopefully the film will be a box office hit, be liked by many viewers, and meet our expectations," concluded Lutesha.
