JAKARTA - Ecological-based schools are now starting to be widely sought after because they are considered capable of forming a generation that is more environmentally aware, adaptive to changes in time, and has social awareness from an early age.
This concept of education not only emphasizes academic ability, but also teaches children to understand the relationship between humans, technology, and environmental sustainability in daily life.
The concept is what is being tried to be presented through the opening of the Eco Socio Tech School (EST School) in Indramayu Regency.
Redea Institute together with the Wira Yodan Cendekia Foundation officially signed a memorandum of understanding to present an active learning-based school that combines ethical environmental, social, and technological approaches.
EST School comes with the philosophy that learning is a journey, not a race. Through this approach, students are expected to grow into creative, innovative individuals, and to be able to become future leaders with integrity.
Redea Institute itself is known as an educational institution that was previously named HighScope Indonesia and has developed active learning methods for more than three decades, ranging from early childhood education to K-12 levels.
"I believe that true learning involves endless adaptation to the future. Through the signing of this MoU, we are committed to creating an ecosystem where technology, environment, and humans are in harmony in Indramayu," said Founder & CEO of Redea Institute, Antarina S.F Amir.
He also expressed his appreciation for the support of various parties for the construction of the school.
"We are very proud and grateful for the support, openness, and great trust given by strategic partners and the people of Indramayu. This initial step is expected to make a real contribution to improving the quality of children's education, to realize a strong, superior, and ready Indonesian generation to face global challenges," he continued.
Chairman of the Wira Yodan Cendekia Foundation, Dr. Anggawira, said the construction of the EST School has personal meaning because he is from Indramayu and wants to contribute to improving the quality of human resources in the area.
"Currently, there are no schools with national or international standards in Indramayu, and the presence of EST School is our real step to bring about change," he said.
Meanwhile, the Founder of the Wira Yodan Cendekia Foundation and owner of the HighScope Indonesia Bengkulu School, Yosia Yodan, revealed that this collaboration began from the desire to provide quality education in Indramayu.
"At the inauguration of the Middle School program at the HighScope Indonesia Bengkulu School, Mr. Anggawira first conveyed his desire to establish a school in Indramayu. I know him as an extraordinary mentor at HIPMI, who always gives an example to all members in the region about how to become a 'fighter entrepreneur'. This spirit encourages us to contribute to EST School Indramayu. We are committed to preparing the best team with superior competencies, in order to provide tangible results that can be felt directly by the parents of the students."
After the signing of the cooperation, EST School Indramayu will start various stages of preparation, ranging from the construction of facilities, provision of learning facilities, to training of teaching staff.
This school is designed to provide an interactive, safe, and fun learning environment for children. Registration for the 2026-2027 school year for EST School Indramayu has also been opened, while the school's operational activities are scheduled to begin in October 2026.
