Wow, Janice And Benita Setyawan Need 1800 Hours To Work On 1 Dress From The 'Realm Of Silence' Collection

JAKARTA - The fashion label Maquinn Couture launched its newest collection titled 'Realm of Silence' Haute Couture Spring 2021 today, Monday, June 7th.

Through a fashion film, Maquinn presented five baroque-style dresses shot at the Palazzo Emilio Turati, Milan.

After debuting at Milan Fashion Week 2020, young designer sisters Janice and Benita Setyawan continue to work even though the pandemic is still ongoing. They spread their wings to wedding dress with an elegant and classic look.

The theme of 'Realm of Silence' focuses on each character who is present in a grand and luxurious manner but can strengthen one's leadership.

“There are adults who tend to be calm and firm. However, there is also a side of children who are innocent, innocent. But that's the allure. Without realizing it, this character also makes a person so active and often ignores anything in order to get what he wants. We present all of this through Maquinn's high luxury gowns," said Benita.

“It took 1800 hours to make this one dress. In making it, we combine various techniques, including embroidery and beading. In addition, to emphasize the beauty of the dress, we also embed thousands of laser cut hydrangea appliques,” said Janice explaining the first dress that was displayed.

Handworked, Maquinn's latest collection has the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome. They hope that Maquinn's presence can be a driving force for other Indonesian designers.

"In the future, of course, we will continue to work and not stop innovating, not only in Milan. Maybe in another country. But the principle we hold is that we want to create something even more unique and of course different,” said Benita.
