Tora Sudiro Does Not Use Stuntman in Janur Ireng Film

JAKARTA - Actor Tora Sudiro has once again shown his totality in the film industry through his latest project titled Janur Ireng: Sewu Dino The Prequel. In this film, Tora is required to perform quite intense fight scenes, ranging from fighting to acrobatic movements.

Tora recounted his experience when he had to do physical scenes without the help of a stand-in or stuntman.

Even though he is now appearing in action scenes, Tora still made his trademark joke when asked about his readiness to do fighting scenes.

"If the fighting scene is, I've been used to it since I was little, yes. I'm used to not doing it," joked Tora while laughing in South Jakarta, Thursday, December 18.

However, behind his jokes, Tora admitted that he had undergone serious preparations. He followed a special training process for two months before filming began to minimize the risk of accidents on location.

"Actually there is a practice. Two months ago we were training. So there are minimal accidents. Maybe if there is 'kecetit' in one or two places, but overall it is safe," he said.

What is interesting, Tora chose to do all the dangerous scenes alone. When asked if he used a stuntman, the husband of Mieke Amalia gave an answer that made the media crew laugh.

"I don't use stunts. Where is there a stunt that is as big as this?" he said while pointing to his tall posture.

Fortunately, Tora was paired with Marthino Lio who he thought was very capable of choreographing the fight. Tora likened his work with Lio to a couple in a dance.

"Lio is already good, so it's like a dancer, someone is the lead. It's more fun, Lio can lead me," explained Tora.

The shooting process for the fight scene was carried out in the Tajur area, Bogor, West Java. Although the intense fight scene only took one to two days to shoot, the overall production process of the film took a month.

"The shooting is a month, but the approach to Lio is longer," he concluded.

The film Janur Ireng itself will begin to be shown in cinemas on December 24. In addition to Tora Sudiro, this film is also starring Masayu Anastasia, Ratu Rafa, Karina Suwandi to Faradina Mufti.
