YOGYAKARTA - The Quran is a holy book of Muslims that is universal. The words of Allah SWT, which were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW through the Angel Gabriel, serve as a guide or guide for the whole of humanity. So, why is the Quran called a book that is universal?

Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also as clear signs for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong); so every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulty (any of) you (Quran 2:185)

Why is the Quran called a universal book?

According to M. Syukri Azwar Lubis in the book Islamic Religious Education Materials (2019), the Quran is called a universal book because it is not intended for a certain group or group only.

All human beings, whether they believe in Allah or not, have the potential to gain the guidance contained in the Quran. However, with the faith that a Muslim has, of course, the potential to gain guidance from the Quran will be greater than those who do not believe.
