Sepatu Kekecilan, Tora Sudiro Endure Pain During the Shooting of Janur Ireng Film

JAKARTA - Behind the scenes of his latest horror film, Janur Ireng: Sewu Dino The Prequel, Tora Sudiro actually has a story of struggle that is full of totality. He did various ways to get the role and give his best, including enduring pain for a whole month.

It all started with an unusual casting process. Because he really wanted to work with director Kimo Stamboel, Tora didn't take any chances in showing his seriousness.

"I was asked to cast one, I had four bikinis. So there are different characters there," he said in South Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

"But at least I have shown that I want to fight," said Tora.

This struggle finally bore fruit with the role of Arjo Kuncoro. However, the challenge did not stop there. During the filming process, Tora had to face physical suffering that was quite torturous.

"It's painful because the shoes I wore in this shooting were small. So for a month of shooting, my feet were in pain," he admitted.

In addition, he also has to keep his body fit to stay fit for a pretty heavy role. He also has to learn to dance the Surabayaan style that drains energy and practice fight scenes.

"Every time I finish shooting, I go home in the afternoon, I still go to the gym when I get home," he said.

"There is a bend, there is a bend. There is a pain in the body," he recalled.

MD Pictures officially released the official poster and final trailer of Janur Ireng: Sewu Dino The Prequel, Monday, December 15. The film, which reveals the beginning of the story of Sewu Dino (2023), will be shown in cinemas on December 24, 2025.

Janur Ireng: Sewu Dino The Prequel is based on the best-selling novel by @Simpleman and is also the second film in the Sewu Dino Universe. In the final trailer that was just released, the story of Janur Ireng is said to have occurred six years before Sewu Dino.

In addition to opening the story of Sewu Dino, the film Janur Ireng also reveals several figures behind the Pitu Tribe.

Several cast who used to play in Sewu Dino, such as Rio Dewanto, Marthino Lio, Karina Suwandi, Givina, and Gisellma, returned and were accompanied by new cast who were involved in Janur Ireng: Sewu Dino The Prequel, including Tora Sudiro, Ratu Rafa, Masayu Anastasia, and Faradina Mufti.
