15 Cheapest Big Cities in the World, Jakarta How High the Ranking?

JAKARTA - Living in a big city is often synonymous with high spending, such as eating, entertainment, and even coffee can make the wallet thin. However, based on the latest global survey, there are actually a number of major cities in the world that are considered more affordable by their own residents. In fact, one of the major cities in Southeast Asia managed to enter the list of cheapest cities.

The research used as the main reference comes from a Time Out survey involving more than 100 cities around the world. In this survey, local residents were asked to assess how affordable various daily activities such as eating at restaurants, watching movies, drinking coffee, and going out at night.

The assessment was then processed to determine which cities are the cheapest and most expensive to live and socialize according to people who live there.

This survey does not include the cost of renting a house, monthly living expenses or basic shopping, but focuses on the cost of activities outside the house which is usually an indicator of the city's lifestyle.

From the results of the Time Out survey, here are the 15 most affordable cities in the world, based on the answers of their own local residents.

5. Naples, Italy

6. Hanoi, Vietnam

7. Chiang Mai, Thailand

So Jakarta is ranked 10th as one of the cheapest big cities in the world according to its own local residents. This means that many activities such as eating out, drinking coffee, or watching entertainment are considered more affordable by people living in Jakarta than in many other big cities.
