Playing 'Ahlan Singapore', Rebecca Klopper Had A Doubt Wearing Hijab

JAKARTA - Rebecca Klopper was asked to be the main character in the film Ahlan Singapore. The film, directed by Indra Kobutz, is the production of MD Pictures with the Singapore Tourism Board.

Rebecca Klopper plays Aisyah, an Indonesian student who studies in Singapore. The figure of Aisyah is a calm person and she wears a hijab.

"Maybe (the challenge) for me to wear the hijab for the first time because the process of wearing the hijab is difficult," recalls Rebecca Klopper at a press conference in South Jakarta on Friday, December 12.

"For me, I chose to join the beginning apart from MD Entertainment because the story I think is interesting, at first there were doubts about playing a woman wearing a hijab because sometimes after playing the character of a woman wearing a hijab, she was then offered a hijab," he explained.

The 24-year-old actress admitted that she was not confident enough to wear the hijab, but then she ventured with the hope that one day she could wear the hijab.

"There is an insecure feeling because it is not appropriate to play a hijab role, but it turns out that the feeling is not allowed," he said.

Regarding the hijab process, Rebecca also enjoyed the preparations and processes while in Singapore.

"Every morning, I went to the crew hotel, early in the morning I was neatly wearing a hijab and left together and apart from wearing the hijab and the impression of Singapore because my friends and I found ourselves," he continued.

"Kiesha (Alvaro) has fun with her action figures, we also hunt for food, I and Dwynna (Win) are really fun in Singapore but many can't be told yet," Rebecca Klopper said.

"I didn't expect to shoot outside, I really walked. On the first day, I was quite surprised, quite congested and tired so I flew you, sis. It's just that the preparation there is complete and the weather is quite similar, so I don't really bring anything," he said.

The film Ahlan Singapore will premiere in Indonesian cinemas starting February 5, 2026.
