JAKARTA - In the midst of his busy schedule, YouTuber and celebrity Ria Ricis took the time to go directly to the flash flood disaster site in Padang, West Sumatra. Together with Dompet Dhuafa, he saw firsthand the poor conditions experienced by the victims.

Ricis denies the assumption that the conditions there have fully recovered. Even though in some areas the water has receded, he found that there are still many residents who live in completely deficient conditions.

"Indeed, when we were walking home or around, there were still many whose houses were swept away, their families were missing," said Ricis in the South Jakarta area, recently.

He told how difficult the terrain he had to go through to reach the evacuation site. The muddy road and cut off became the main obstacle in the distribution of aid.

"There is a road that is still muddy, some roads are cut off, some even have no electricity, clean water is not yet available," he explained, describing how minimal the facilities there were.

He did this visit suddenly, taking advantage of one holiday in the midst of a busy schedule. This shows his high concern for others.

Ricis's main focus while at the location is to give happiness to the children who are victims of the disaster. He deliberately did not ask about traumatic things such as the condition of their house or family.

"I focus on providing warmth and cheerful laughter to the children there," he said.

"And it turns out that they really welcome me with great joy," he continued.

Seeing such heartbreaking conditions, Ricis constantly invites the public to continue donating.

"No matter how many it is, it means a lot to my brothers and sisters who are there," he ordered.

Ria Ricis' humanitarian mission does not stop in Padang. He plans to continue his trip to Aceh in mid-December, bringing back a good mission for those in need.
