JAKARTA - A safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment greatly affects the growth and development of the younger generation. Schools are not only places where students seek knowledge, but also spaces where they learn to build healthy living habits, social skills, and care for themselves and their environment.
In this case, forming a school culture that supports physical, mental, and sustainability health is an important step in preparing a strong and empowered future generation.
One of the initiatives that support this goal is the Healthiest Schools program, which provides free learning materials for elementary and junior high school teachers.
This material is designed to enrich learning in class and includes four main themes such as healthy eating, active lifestyle, mental health to healthy and sustainable. In addition, there is also a competition for healthy school projects with the support of facilities for selected schools that have succeeded in developing an impact program for students and the school community.
In order to encourage wider participation, this initiative has also entered its third year of implementation in Indonesia.
"We encourage elementary and junior high school levels throughout Indonesia to register their schools in this project competition. We hope that this program can trigger inspiration to build a healthier school environment," said Kathryn Parapak, Chief Marketing Officer of AIA in a statement.
In the previous implementation, Indonesia managed to make achievements at the regional level, outperforming hundreds of schools from eight countries. One of them is UPTD SDN Papela through the Ecolitera project.
"With the AIA Healthiest Schools, the UPTD SDN Papela can further enhance efforts to create a healthy learning environment. The prizes we received thanks to the Ecolitera or Story Garbage project are great motivation to continue to strengthen health programs at school," explained the school representative teacher, Sri Sidin.

The impact of this program was also felt by SMPN 43 Bandung, which won the mental health category through the Bejakeun bullying reporting application.
"AIA Healthiest Schools really helps us encourage school culture that cares more about students' mental well-being. The programs and support we receive make us more confident in continuing to develop mental health initiatives in the school environment," said the school representative, Asep Ramdani.
With more schools showing enthusiasm, the organizers will continue this series of programs for the following year.
"We are very excited to enter the period in 2026 and see the enthusiasm of schools getting bigger in this program. This program has entered its third year in Indonesia, registration for the AIA Healthiest Schools healthy school project competition has been officially opened with a deadline for collecting health school project reports until March 10, 2026 via link aia.id/ahs," said Lia Merdekawaty, Head of Corporate Communication AIA.
Through the various initiatives and collaborations formed, it is hoped that this program can be part of a larger movement to create schools that support student welfare as a whole ranging from physical health to emotional balance and environmental care.
