Dee Lestari Tak Sangka 29 Years Of Work, Paper Boats Can Be Musical

JAKARTA - Author Dee Lestari shared her involvement in the Paper Boat Musical. This musical is a collaboration between Indonesia Kaya, Trinity Entertainment Network, and Trust Orchestra.

This musical was developed from Dee Lestari's story of the same name. He leaked the Paper Boat into the longest manuscript he had ever worked on, but he never thought the story was still remembered today.

"I think the Paper Boat is a test, proof of the dream can come true. When rewriting 2007, I never imagined he had a trip so far, so when the Paper Boat became a musical format, the full circle of the song line he gave birth to songs not only one and was played musically. Furthermore, Dee Lestari stated that her role in this musical was only a consultant, but the songs she made for the film version would be available.

"The musical songs are different because the song must work with a story, so it takes a story with the plot of the Paper Boat. The song that I once released became the foundation and he brought a familiar color but got a new touch or musical story," he said.

"So there is something that can be helped, I can answer but technically the scenario can be asked to the experts. I gave the script for the original Paper Boat. To be honest, if it's a novel, especially if it's hundreds of pages long, it's impossible to enter its total adaptation format," said Dee Lestari.

The Paper Boat musicals will start pre-sales on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Loket.com for performances from January 30 to February 15, 2026 at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta.
