Musical Disenchanted Film Produced, Exclusively On Disney + Hotstar Next Year

JAKARTA - Production of Disney's live-action musical comedy, Disenchanted, a sequel to the Oscar-nominated award-winning film Enchanted (2007) is in the works.

Based on information reported by Antara, Tuesday, the film, which was produced by director Adam Shankman, and produced by Barry Josephson, Amy Adams, and Barry Sonnenfeld, is currently shooting in Ireland, and is planned to be broadcast exclusively on Disney + Hotstar in 2022.

Disenchanted stars Amy Adams, recipient of six awards from an Academy Award nomination, continuing her story as an innocent girl named Giselle who recently got married and lives her life in Monroeville with the pragmatic and cynical Patrick Dempsey Robert Philip, and James Marsden (X-Men) as a handsome prince named Prince Edward who came from Andalasia.

Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine, a tailor who is now married to Prince Edward; then Maya Rudolph as Malvina who is Giselle's enemy at Monroeville, and Kolton Stewart as the son of Malvina.

There is also Yvette Nicole Brown as Rosalyn, Jayma Mays as Ruby, Oscar Nunez as Edgar, and introducing Gabriella Baldacchino in her debut through the film Disenchanted as Morgan, daughter of Robert Philip who is now 19 years old from Glen Rock, New Jersey.

"Working with Disney again, feels like returning to 'home'," said director Adam Shankman.

"With Amy and all the amazing cast, the music created by Alan and Stephen, and the support from Barry and Disney, I hope the film" Disenchanted "will bring magic and joy to audiences around the world," he added.

Disenchanted brings back the much-awaited character, Giselle, a princess from the fairy tale world of Andalasia who is stranded in the city of Manhattan.

On his way, he meets Robert Philip, a lawyer who is thought to be the Princess Charming, who is taking care of his divorce. 15 years later, Giselle moves to the city of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter Morgan, where she has to face various obstacles in her new life and must find the meaning of happiness for herself and her family.

The film Disenchanted will feature new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, who have received three Academy Award nominations for their work in the film Enchanted.
