JAKARTA - Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty series don't need to be sad. The third season which ended on Wednesday, September 17 was not the end of the franchise.

Amazon MGM Studios announced the film The Summer I Turned Pretty which has a further story and will be directed by the book's writer, Jenny Han.

Regarding the story, the production house has not explained what the story looks like and chose to keep the meeting until the time comes. The presence of this film is also the impact of the success of the series received by global audiences.

"The Summer I Turned Pretty has succeeded in captivating audiences around the world, as well as presenting moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that make it a global phenomenon," said Courtenay Valenti as Head of Film, Streaming, and Theater at Amazon MGM Studios.

Jenny Han also hopes that the journey of the Belly character will be a wait for the audience. He felt that this film was enough to cover the trip.

Adapted from the best-selling trilogy by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become a global phenomenon since it first aired. Her third season was watched by 25 million viewers worldwide in seven days of broadcast, as well as taking fifth place as the series with the most-watched follow-up season on Prime Video.

The first season, which was released in the summer of 2022, immediately became the number one show on Prime Video during its launch week. The second season, which came in 2023, managed to double the number of spectators of the previous season in just the first three days of its broadcast.

This series tells the story of Belly who is involved in a love triangle between two men who are siblings.
