Many Action Roles, Joe Taslim Interested In Playing Bollywood Films

JAKARTA - Joe Taslim expressed his interest in playing in Bollywood films. As an Indonesian actor who has started his career internationally, he feels he has never received an offer to play in Indian films.

"We learn a lot from outside. Filming in Korea is also a lot to learn, shooting in Africa is also a lot to learn from, Australia, UK, all kinds of things but still filming the most beautiful in our own country," said Joe Taslim in a talk session in South Jakarta on Tuesday, September 16.

Apart from Bollywood, Joe Taslim also misses playing in Indonesian films, especially the action genre that is not widely produced. He feels that Indonesia has potential because of the many assumptions that the best action talent comes from Indonesia.

"Not many Indonesian films have action, rarely do not know why even though the world sees action in Indonesia. But there is a good action film in Indonesia, so I want to let it strengthen Indonesia," explained Joe.

Joe Taslim is starring in two of the latest films, The Furious, the Hong Kong film directed by Kenji Tanigaki which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 6.

In addition, Joe Taslim was also confirmed to return to play Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat 2 which will air in May 2026.
