Thanks To Adolescence, Owen Cooper Becomes The Youngest Emmy Award Winner

JAKARTA - Little actor Owen Cooper won his first award at the 2025 Emmy Award. He received an award for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series category for his acting in the Adolescence series.

With this award, Cooper was named the youngest Emmy winner in the award's history.

The 15-year-old actor competed with several big names in this category, namely Javier Bardem from Monsters: Theria and Erik Menendez Story, Rob Delaney from Dying for Sex, Peter Sarsgaard and Biil Camp from Presumed Innocent, and Ashley Walters who were his co-stars in the Adolescence series.

"Seding here feels realist. To be honest, when I started going through acting classes a few years ago, I didn't expect to be in the United States, even here," said Owen Cooper when receiving the award on Sunday, September 14 local time.

"But I think tonight proves if you listen and focus and get out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I'm nobody three years ago. Now I'm here," he said.

In the Adolescence series, Owen Cooper plays Jamie Miller, the alleged killer of his classmate who catches the public's attention. This role makes his name even more widely known.

In a week of releases, the series became the title most watched on Netflix.

Owen Cooper is also preparing several projects, namely the Film Club series and the Wuthering Heights film where he plays a young Heathcliff.
