Focus On Acting, Kang Mina Doesn't Participate In The IOI Decade 1 Reunion

JAKARTA - The news of the IOI group reunion to celebrate 10 years has not been officially announced, but it can be ascertained that one of its members, Kang Mina, cannot participate.

Friday, September 12, JTBC reported IOI is planning a reunion project in May 2026 to celebrate 10 years since their debut. Almost all members will join, but Kang Mina cannot follow the series of processes.

Jeon Somi, who is a member of the IOI, said, "Reunion plans lead positively. I'm adjusting the schedule."

Kang Mina's agency, Story J Company, stated that they were trying to adjust Kang Mina's schedule to be able to participate in a series of promotions, but they could not be due to the busy shooting schedule.

"The reunion schedule that is being discussed collides with the shooting schedule and promotions for his latest drama," said Story J Company.

We understand fans' desire to wait and hope, and we have a long discussion with the artist. We respect his desire to focus on acting and it was decided he could not participate with this project," the agency said.

I.O.I debuted in May 2016 after the Produce 101 program with Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Chungha, Kim So Hye, Kyulkyung, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung. They underwent promotion eight months before being declared disbanded in January 2017.

Kang Mina debuted as a member of the Gugudan group under the Jellyfish Entertainment agency with Kim Sejeong, until this group disbanded.

Currently Kang Mina is acting in the drama Twelve which is currently airing. He is also preparing the Wish Your Death series and the drama Back to Work!
