Tarian Lengger Maut Movie Airs From Eid Al-Fitr

JAKARTA - Production houses Visinema Pictures and Aenigma Pictures present a film titled Tarian Lengger Maut. The moment of Eid al-Fitr that falls on this day, May 13, becomes an opportunity for a spectacle that can fill the time off.

Tarian Lengger Maut tells the story of a village where one by one its citizens mysteriously disappear. Sukma (Della Dartyan) undergoes a ritual to receive Indang, where someone who has Indang can attract the attention of the audience.

In addition, the audience is also introduced to the doctor Jati (Refal Hady) who is also mysterious and is suspected of having a connection with the disappearance of people in the village.

Through this thriller, Tarian Lengger Maut is also a promotion of Lengger's dance culture, a traditional dance from Banyumas.

"Its original purpose was to introduce culture. And so far the stigma of Lengger dance is a lot of negatives, we want to try to lift from a different perspective", said Yongki Ongestu as director.

They also involve a variety of local artists to showcase their skills through this film. Eid moment was chosen in the middle of the pandemic situation, but it is not something that makes it difficult for Visinema and Aenigma.

"At first we felt, what about this situation we bring to the cinema, but finally get a chance to be able to release this in Lebaran, so why not? Let's try", said Angga Dwimas Sasongko, a producer of Visinema Pictures.

Tarian Lengger Maut's film can be seen starting today, May 13 in all Indonesian cinemas.
