Angklung Menggema Di CHANDI 2025, Musik Dari Harmoni Bambu Hingga Diplomacy Budaya Indonesia

JAKARTA - The bamboo instrument called angklung is not only a musical instrument, but also a reflection of the long history of the agrarian community in the archipelago. Its distinctive sound was born from prayers and gratitude for the rice farmers, long before appearing on the modern stage.

Behind a simple bamboo knife, there is a philosophy of togetherness, which is that one tube does not produce harmony, but together it forms an attractive melody.

In a series of Culture, Heritage, Art, Narrative, Diplomacy, and Innovation (CHANDI) 2025 at The Meru Sanur, Bali, September 3's 3'5, 2025, angklung was again played through a workshop hosted by Ika Yunus, a cultural activist who actively introduces angklung in the international arena. Participants are not only invited to understand the history and philosophy of angklung, but also have the opportunity to make and play this instrument directly.

Angklung was originally a sacred instrument in agricultural traditions. He was born from prayer, not from the concert stage," said Ika in Denpasar.

He also mentioned the angklung trip since Daeng Soetigna introduced adiatonic and chromatic tone system, making it look stunning in the 1955 Asian Africa Conference, which emphasized that angklung is a symbol of Indonesian cultural diplomacy.

Lebih dalam, Ika membahas soal pemilihan bahan. Bambu black atau awi hideung berusia 35 tahun disebut sebagai age emas' karena menghasilkan resonance terbaik. Kalau terlalu muda muara mendem, kalau terlalu tua bunyi mati, jelasnya.

The workshop atmosphere is even more lively when the participants try to make their own angklung by wrapping a rattan, then playing the tone according to the code. From there, a simple harmony was born that echoed and united all.

Angklung is now more than just traditional music. It is a bridge of friendship between nations, with an eternal message: unity and cooperation create beauty," concluded Ika.
