Imbas Travel Warning Dari Sejumlah Negara, DPR: Tidak Akan Ganggu Sektor Wisata

JAKARTA - Travel warnings issued by a number of countries often raise concerns about the decline in interest in foreign tourists.

The appeal is considered to be able to affect the security image of tourist destinations, including Bali and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) which are the magnets of national tourism. However, in the field, tourism activities in the two areas continue to run normally without significant disturbances.

Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Siti Mukaromah, emphasized that travel warning will not have a serious impact on Indonesian tourism.

"Travel warning is only an appeal so that foreign nationals are more careful. That is different from the travel tires that actually prohibit travel to an area," explained the legislator who is familiarly called Erma, as quoted by ANTARA.

He gave an example, until now tourist activities in main destinations such as Bali and NTB have continued to run normally, even though a number of countries issued travel warnings following demonstrations in Jakarta and several areas.

According to Erma, domestic conditions are also getting better so she is optimistic that these countries will immediately lift travel warnings. "If the warning is lifted, the tourism industry will move more and have a domino effect on the MSME sector and the creative industry," he said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the tourism sector and creative industry can create new jobs and help the community in strengthening the family economy.

For the record, a number of countries that issued travel warnings to Indonesia include the United States, Malaysia, Singapore, France, Japan, the Philippines, Britain, and Canada.
