Selena Gomez shared the photo by writing, When a friend got engaged. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco got engaged in December 2024.

Gomez also uploaded a tweet on X that Swift wrote to her in April 2009. The tweet reads, "True love is still happening sometimes. This is not something we made when we were nine years old. I have to believe that, you too."

Gracie Abrams, who was holding a concert in Mexico, congratulated Swift through her conversation at the concert.
