Expert Witness At Jonathan Frizzy's Trial: Etomade Is Hard Drugs Without Circulation Permit In Indonesia

TANGERANG - A crucial fact was revealed in a follow-up hearing of the vape abuse case containing a strong drug that ensnared actor Jonathan Frizzy.

The expert witness from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) tried to explain that Etomade, the substance allegedly contained in Jonathan Frizzy's vape, is a category of hard drugs that do not have an official distribution permit in Indonesia.

In the trial held on Tuesday, August 26, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) dug deeper into the legal status of Etoidate to an expert witness from BPOM, Nur Maulida.

"Well, what I want to ask is, these are the points, yes, I'm not too long. Regarding Etoidate. What drug category is this etomodate included, right? Is it illegal?" asked the Public Prosecutor during the trial, Tuesday, August 26.

"Poor medicine," answered Nur Maulida, an expert witness from the BPOM.

Nur Maulida then explained that as a strong drug, its circulation and use must be under strict supervision and require a doctor's prescription.

"Poor medicine, huh? Hard drugs. So, what is the category of hard drugs like? Why can Etomadete be categorized as hard drugs?" asked the Public Prosecutor.

"The strong drug is under supervision where the handover must use a doctor's prescription to the patient," said Nur Maulida.

Nur Maulida then testified that the Etomade substance turned out to be illegal to be circulated in Indonesian territory because it did not yet have a distribution permit.

"In fact, there is no distribution permit in Indonesia itself," explained Nur Maulida.

The expert witness also confirmed the main function of Etomade as a type of anesthetic or anesthetic, which confirms the need for medical supervision in its use.

"Because we know a little that this is one of the forms? Anesthesia, right?" asked the Public Prosecutor.

"That's right, anesthesia," said Nur Maulida.
