JAKARTA - Production house Starvision will release their latest horror film, a return to the climbing scene after their previous success with "Petaka Gunung Gede", entitled Pencarian Terakhir.

The film itself is based on the myth of one of Indonesia's mountains, Mount Sarangan. Seven years after her mother disappeared on Mount Sarangan, Drupadi (Adzana Ashel) returns there with her lover and friends for a trail run.

However, the terror of Ki Tapa (Egi Fedly), the guardian of Mount Sarangan, leads Dru and her friends astray. Drupadi and her friends are declared missing, forcing her father, Tito (Donny Alamsyah), to confront his trauma by embarking on another mysterious search on Mount Sarangan!

Produced by Chand Parwez Servia and Mithu Nisar, "The Last Search" is directed by Affandi Abdul Rachman. Starring Adzana Ashel, Donny Alamsyah, Artika Sari Devi, Razan Zu, Fatih Unru, Alika Jantinia, Fadi Alaydrus, and Dinda Mahira, the film will present a horror mystery, wrapped in the myth of a stranger breaking a food taboo, which will send shivers down the spine.

"The film "Search for the Last" is an unconventional horror. It not only delivers tension and adrenaline, but also contains many messages and family warmth that we can feel while watching. No matter how difficult our circumstances, there is a family who accepts and looks after us," said producer of the mystery horror film "Search for the Last" Chand Parwez Servia, as quoted by VOI in a media release on Sunday, August 24.

"The friendship between the fathers in this film will bring a warm story, so that the horror presentation doesn't just rely on jump scares, but also includes a strong family story," added "Search for the Last" director, Affandi Abdul Rachman.

The film " Pencarian Terakhir" (Finding the Last Climbing) is also the third mountain climbing film produced by Starvision, following "Sekawan Limo" and "Petaka Gunung Gede," both of which were box office successes.

As a sequel to " Pencarian Terakhir" (2008), this film will shed light on the unsolved mysteries of the first film.

"This story isn't just a horror mystery about a mountain quest. This film also tells the story of a father preparing his son for independence in his future. The forest and mountains in this film are metaphors for life's challenges. The story is very profound, including the figure of a mother who sacrifices herself to save her child, and a husband who travels to a terrifying place in another world to search for his wife," said Donny Alamsyah.

Adzana Ashel, who previously had success with "Petaka Gunung Gede," feels she now enjoys filming in the mountains more. Playing Drupadi, she grew up in a harmonious family.

However, one day, her father turned cold and forced her to become a resilient figure to face the world.

"Previously, I felt burdened filming in the mountains, but this time I was able to be more independent," said Adzana Ashel.

Artika Sari Devi, who has returned to the big screen for the past six years, expressed her deep impressions of the entire cast, including the young stars in this film. Artika, returning after a long hiatus, said the film was mentally and physically draining.

"This film was both mentally and physically challenging. Filming it was a new journey for me as a mother. Afterward, I also reflected on my husband and grew to love him even more. The film also showcases the father-daughter relationship, and it made me reflect and learn more about my child," said Artika Sari Devi.
