Read Pleidoi, Fariz RM Regrets And Promises: This Will Be The Last Time

JAKARTA - Senior musician Fariz RM apologized and deeply regretted when he read his plea or plea memorandum at the South Jakarta District Court for a case of alleged drug abuse.

In front of the panel of judges, he asked for a second chance to improve, promising that this would be the last time he was caught in a bad habit.

With a smooth voice, Fariz RM started his defense with an apology addressed to his closest people and the wider community.

"Your Majesty, I just want to apologize, allow me to apologize to my family, to my mother who is still there, then also to my family, my wife and children, and my extended family, as well as the wider community, especially the Indonesian music lovers," said Fariz RM while reading his plea at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, August 11.

He admits his regret for the actions he has done throughout his life.

"I want to apologize because I regret it as my actions throughout my life," he continued.

In front of the panel of judges, this legendary musician promised sincerely not to repeat his mistakes if he was given the opportunity to improve himself.

"God willing (if) I was given the opportunity and opportunity to improve myself and I also promised before the assembly that this would be the last time for me to continue to do bad habits that might be noted," said Fariz RM.

His age is no longer young and his role as the backbone of the family is the main reason he asks for relief and the opportunity to return to the right path.

"I hope that if I was given another chance I would improve myself and my life in the future, considering that I am almost 66 years old and I am still the backbone of my family, to support my family," said Fariz RM.

In the end, his biggest hope is to return to society as a better person and continue to contribute to the world of music in the country he loves very much.

"I want to be given another chance so that I have the opportunity and the opportunity to be able to return to society in the integrity of humans who are more perfect physically physically and mentally and still have positive thoughts. (In addition) I want to continue working in the Indonesian music industry," said Fariz RM.

Previously, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged the defendant Fariz RM with 6 years in prison. Fariz was found guilty of charges of drug abuse and possession.

In his demands, the Prosecutor also demanded Fariz to pay a fine of Rp. 800 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison.

The prosecutor believes that Fariz has violated Article 112 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, in accordance with the second indictment indicted by the prosecutor before.

Fariz was charged with violating Article 114 paragraph (1) or Article 112 paragraph (1) and Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

In imposing charges, the prosecutor also has a number of considerations that are the basis for Fariz. For things that are burdensome to demands, it does not support the government's program in eradicating narcotics trafficking, and the defendant has already been convicted.

"The mitigating thing is that the defendant is cooperative in the trial process," said the prosecutor.
