Acting Debut Through Who He Is, Monica Tahalea: Sorry Mas Garin

JAKARTA - Singer Monita Tahalea shared her most stressful shooting experience when she was involved in the musical film Siapa Dia.

So tense, he admitted that he was not aware that he had ignored the warning from the director, Garin Nugroho, which irritated him.

The tense moment occurred when he had to act as a character, Nurlela. Monita was so focused that she didn't realize the circumstances around her.

"And if my experience was the most exciting one day when I was shooting the scene of Nurlela, I was really really tense, until I felt like my brain was repeating dialogue and all kinds of things, so that day I was not aware of the people around me," said Monita Tahalea in the Central Jakarta area, Tuesday, July 29.

"Maybe Mas Garin reprimanded me but I was ignorant. Then he started a bit like that. Maybe I didn't know either, sorry, Mas Garin," said Monita.

In the midst of his tensions, actor Nicholas Saputra came to him. The man who is familiarly called Nicho is aware of Monita's anxiety.

"So I'm also really tense, keep sitting in the make-up place, then Nicho comes, and Nicho says, 'Are you tense?', yes, it's really tense," continued Monita.

Despite having experienced this tense moment, Monita emphasized that it was insignificant compared to the extraordinary support she received from the entire crew and cast. The atmosphere on the set really helped her.

"But that doesn't mean anything because I feel very supported by all my friends, like earlier, the tension means nothing compared to the support my friends provide and the atmosphere on the set," said Monita Tahalea.

He also praised Garin Nugroho's way of directing it. According to him, the director has a very subtle and personal approach.

"And even though there was a change, Mas Garin knew the actor or cast that Mas Garin chose, so Mas Garin took an approach when making changes, it was very subtle, Mas Garin knew I was a mellowor, so the approach was melancholic too," he said.

This experience is a very valuable lesson for Monita, especially when she sees the dedication of her colleagues.

"So I learned a lot in the film Who is He, especially from the friends involved here. How their dedication is because almost everything is on time and on time and once it comes in, once everything is ready with what they have to show. So this is really amazing for me," he said.
