Nicholas Saputra's Confession Was Nervous When Trying Musical Films, Praises The Support Of Professional Singers

JAKARTA - Actor Nicholas Saputra revealed his reasons for being interested in being involved in the latest musical film project by Garin Nugroho, Who is He?

Apart from being invited directly by the director, the opportunity to learn from singers and professional musical actors is the main attraction.

"The first thing that attracted Mas Garin was the one who invited me, secondly, I played with the singers, the people who are used to playing in musicals I feel that I will learn a lot in this film," said Nicholas Saputra in the Central Jakarta area, Tuesday, July 29.

To prepare for his role, Nicholas had to undergo an intensive training process for two months. The exercise includes various aspects needed for a musical film.

"(2 months for) vocal training, song training, especially those sung, and choreography training," he continued.

The recording process was carried out using layered methods, ranging from recordings before filming, while filming at the location, to re-recording at the editing stage.

"It took a few days (rekaman), but this is layered, it means that some were recorded for the shooting process, some were recorded at the location, several songs, some were re-recorded via editing," explained Nicholas Saputra.

Trying out a fairly new genre for him, the star of the film "What's Up with Love?" admitted that he was nervous. However, this feeling did not last long thanks to the full support of his more experienced fellow players.

"I was nervous. Yes, I repeated it, so because it was supported by friends, I was nervous, it quickly faded," he said.

Solid support from his co-stars is the key for Nicholas in facing the challenges in this film. He felt the burden was getting lighter and the process he imagined would be difficult to run more easily.

"At first I thought it would be difficult but it turned out that I got very good support from friends who had extraordinary experience in the field of musicals so I felt lighter," he said.
