Netflix's 1.6 T Contract With Harry And Meghan Not Continued, Not Success?

JAKARTA - Netflix's contract with Harry and Meghan for their production will end and not be extended. They signed a contract worth 100 million US dollars or the equivalent of Rp1.62 trillion in 2020.

"There is no hostility from both parties. Everything is going as it should be," a source told The Sun.

Together with Netflix, Harry and Meghan made several documentaries and shows that were broadcast exclusively on the platform, namely Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, Polo, and With Love, Meghan which was released this year.

Even so, their collaboration also did not completely end as the second season of With Love, Meghan is scheduled to air this year.

In addition, the couple Harry and Meghan are not the only ones to end this multi-project agreement. Previously, Barack Obama and Michelle had also ended the development of their production house Higher Ground with Netflix.

Reportedly, the end of Harry and Meghan's collaboration with Netflix came from the unsatisfactory broadcast of the Netflix project.

Their first documentary series, Harry & Meghan, which was released in 2022, received a good audience, but a different fate was experienced by the Polo series which only saw 500 thousand views.

Likewise with the show With Love, Meghan, which was released this year, only earned 5.3 million views, a figure that was low compared to other original events.

"Netflix is acting smart as they get a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and to know, realistically, it will be the content peak of this Montecito pair," the source told The Sun.
