Japan Has Been Named The Best Tourist Destination In The World

JAKARTA - The well-known travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler released the Best Country for the reader's version of the Readers' Choice Awards. For two consecutive years, Japan was again named the Best Country in the World.

Reporting from the Soranews24 page, in this annual survey, Japan won a score of 95.32, ahead of Switzerland who were in second place with a score of 94.62, and Thailand in third place with a score of 92.29. Although complete details regarding the assessment system were not explained in depth, Condé Nast said the surge in interest in traveling to Japan was one of the determining factors.

This is not surprising, considering that Japan is one of the last countries to reopen its doors to international tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic, even as the world spotlight was on the country during the Tokyo Olympics.

Japan's appeal has not decreased. In its report, Condé Nast mentioned a number of reasons that keep foreign tourists interested in visiting Japan, including the beauty of the iconic Cheric flower, Taman Ghibli, a historic architecture, avant-garde art event, a variety of culinary and appetizing drinks.

Not only that, Japan is also ranked sixth in the list of the Most Friendly Countries in the World. Meanwhile, Tokyo is ranked sixth on the list of the Most Friendly Cities in the World of Condé Nast readers.

One thing that is not explicitly stated in the report, but has a big influence, is the currency exchange rate. In the last two years, yen has weakened significantly, thus making the holiday to Japan much more affordable than before.

Although Condé Nast is known as a guide for high-end tourists, this lucrative exchange rate allows more tourists with a medium budget to enjoy premium tourism experiences in Japan, including outside the resort area, thanks to the country's excellent tourism infrastructure.

It is not certain how long the yen exchange rate will remain profitable for foreign tourists. But what is certain is that the combination of traditional and modern culture that characterizes Japan will continue to make it one of the best tourist destinations in the world for a long time.
