6 Ramadan Shows On TV Reprimanded By The MUI For Harassing Women And Vulgarities

JAKARTA - Not only the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) monitors television programs. The Indonesian Ulema Council through the Information and Communication Commission (Infokom) MUI also monitors TV broadcasts, especially for Ramadan content. KPI then facilitated the MUI to meet the TV delegation and deliver their criticisms and suggestions.

On Friday (30/4), the MUI Monitoring Team delivered the findings of several problematic programs in the first half of Ramadan, in an online meeting with TV producers, which was facilitated by KPI. The TV delegation was also committed to making improvements.

However, in monitoring the second half of Ramadhan, the MUI Ramadahan monitoring team found potential violations and impropriety in several programs that had previously been given suggestions for improvement.

The Chairperson of the MUI Infocom Commission, Mabroer MS, explained that the programs were Ambyar TransTV Afternoon-Afternoon, Trans7 Open Pass, Trans7 Sahur Seger, Ramadhan In The Kost and Ramadhan Kring-kring in The Kost on Net TV, as well as ANTV's New Normal Pesbukers.

These programs remain stubborn by broadcasting shows that contain elements of ridicule, demeaning, insulting and / or ignoring religious values, Indonesian human dignity, and having obscene / obscene / obscene / vulgar meanings.

Mabroer regretted the lack of seriousness and commitment from broadcasters to fix the problematic content.

In fact, in a joint evaluation meeting with MUI, KPI, and the Ministry of Religion with television broadcasting institutions, Friday (30/4), broadcasting institutions have again stated their commitment to improve broadcasts deemed problematic.

Therefore, referring to KPI Regulation Number 02 / P / KPI / 03/2012 concerning Broadcast Program Standards (SPS), Article 80, Mabroer stated that MUI asked KPI to impose a temporary suspension sanction on such stubborn shows.

1. Sahur Seger Trans7

According to a member of the MUI Ramadhan program monitoring team, Rida Hesti Ratnasari, from the beginning of the April 13 to May 4 fasting, sensuality and humiliation still appeared in the Sahur Seger Trans7.
