Actor Joaquin Phoenix expressed regret during an interview with presenter David Letterman in 2009. Recently, he called the interview one of the worst nights.

In 2009, director Casey Affleck made a moccumentary titled I'm Still Here starring Joaquin Phoenix. The film tells the journey of an actor who retires from acting to become a Hip-Hop star.

Phoenix as the main character presented the real and fictional world side to bring the role to the real world until the public thought the documentary was real.

In an interview in 2009, Joaquin Phoenix appeared with a beard and hair that was left messy, wearing glasses and swallowing rubber candy. He even answered questions about the film in his character to David Letterman.

16 years passed, Phoenix returned to the Stephen Colbert show and apologized for his attitude at the time. It is known that the film I'm Still Here was also not successful when it was shown in theaters.

When I came to this show with Dave, initially I wanted an interview in the character but I felt it was ridiculous, so I told them 'This is what I did and I'm going out doing' recalls Joaquin Phoenix.

"And I want Dave to hurt me, I want it to look dangerous. It was initial intention. I want to get this reaction and see how people respond to it, so it's profitable when people don't know," he explained.

Despite the plan, Joaquin Phoenix admitted the interview was so bad that she wanted to apologize to David Letterman.

"Very uncomfortable. I regret it. I will never do it, I'm sorry. I don't know if he watched it or not, but I will apologize," Phoenix said.

"It feels strange, because on the one hand, it was a success but on the other hand it was one of the worst nights of my life," he said.

Several years have passed, Joaquin Phoenix managed to recover her career by starring in various hits in Hollywood. This year, she returns to acting with Pedro Pascal in the film Eddington.
