JAKARTA - The government has again shown its commitment to supporting the protection of workers' children and increasing women's participation in the workforce through the launch of the TAMASYA program (Taman Asuh Sayang Anak).

This initiative was confirmed in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemenduk bangga) or BKKBN, together with the Ministry of Environment / Environmental Control Agency.

"Today we have an MoU activity with the Minister of Environment regarding TAMASYA. What is Taman Asuh Sayang Anak? This program was born from real inspiration and needs in the field," said the Minister/Head of BKKBN, Wihaji, when met at the BKKBN Halim office, East Jakarta on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Wihaji explained that TAMASYA's idea arose during his visit to East Kalimantan, where many palm oil companies operate.

"I saw firsthand that many workers had difficulty raising children because they worked in gardens. Therefore, the idea emerged to create a Foster Park Sayang Anak in the work environment," said Wihaji.

"Our hope is that corporations, especially those related to the environmental sector, can provide TAMASYA as part of their environmental proper requirements," he continued.

Collaboration with KLH cannot be separated from the integrative strategy. The Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol, emphasized that the provision of facilities such as TAMASYA will be one of the important indicators in the PROPER assessment (Company Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management).

"This year alone, there are more than 6,000 large companies that take part in the PROPER. To get a gold or green rating, the conditions must have a TAMASYA program," said Hanif.

"That way, children who are left by their parents work still get protection and affection in a safe and educational environment," he continued.

In addition to the environmental aspect, TAMASYA is also a solution in supporting demographic bonuses and encouraging women's participation in the world of work.

"We have to answer the demographic bonus challenge. Our female workforce is still far below men. Therefore, a gender perspective must be present," said Wihaji.

"Don't keep the woman who has to sacrifice out of work because she takes care of children. The state must be present. Children should not be victims either. That's why TAMASYA is important," he added.

To realize this program widely, Wihaji said that he had formed partnerships with various ministries and institutions.

"We are working with the Minister of Home Affairs to involve the local government. There is also the Minister of Manpower, especially for female workers in the industrial sector. Many factories have mostly female workers, we don't want them to stop working just because of parenting," he explained.

The government itself also opens the possibility for subsidies and financial support, especially in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas. In this event, symbolic assistance was also handed over from Baznas to support the implementation of TAMASYA in the 3T region. Hanif Faisol also revealed that KLH had issued a ministerial decision and would begin conducting an assessment of the PROPER participating companies starting this year.

"The process takes 28 months. So the Minister's decision has been issued, and the assessment starting today to at least 6,000 companies," said Hanif.

"If they don't organize the TAMASYA program, the gold and green rankings won't be given. This is important for the entire company." he added.

This activity does not only contain MoU and official statements. The series of events were also conveyed the Socialization of Joint Circular (SEB) of the Six Ministers concerning the Establishment and Implementation of Child Care Places in ministries/agencies, local governments, BUMN/D, the private sector, and the community.
