Exclusive Agus Kuncoro: Actor's Profession Becomes A Learning Field

JAKARTA - Senior actor Agus Kuncoro revealed the various challenges he faced when playing the character Otto in the film Gundik which for him was filled with extreme and imaginary scenes. According to him, the experience is very far from his personal life and requires high joy.

"Wow, there are many scenes here that I have never experienced myself, even though I have to admit it, I'm confused where to go," said Agus Kuncoro at the VOI office some time ago.

He explained that a number of scenes in the film, such as watching his head beput on or meeting non-human beings, had never experienced in real life at all.

"I've never seen my head beput on, I've never seen other creatures than what I see like ordinary humans, sometimes even Anggi describes the rooms of the halls as well as different, so there is one room that I sometimes see this really hurts. People who make it with displays with interiors like this really hurt people like that, "he continued.

"So it's really a bit so everything has to be really imagined, unfortunately, but for other emotions that I have and all kinds of things, I just want to do spectacular things like that," he said.

However, there is a side to Otto's character which is quite close to him, namely the relationship between a father and a daughter. Even so, the emotional conditions and extreme situations described in the film are still difficult to imagine.

"Father, you and your daughter, you and your daughter are actually really me if you and your daughter are like that, I also don't know what to do, I really don't imagine, I mean, you're ordinary, right? Then suddenly, if you have to go inside like what happened in this film Otto, I can't imagine how a father feels like. But yes, there's a script, something happened," explained Agus Kuncoro.

He also admitted that Otto's character was very different from himself in the real world, especially in terms of how to accept his son's new partner. According to him, it's not an emotional easy thing.

"Oh no, that's why what I like about Otto's character, right, because this is very different from me, and the cool thing is also not easy how to accept his son's husband, it's also not an easy thing, right? Then suddenly there are other men, right? I can also imagine, maybe my son is 17 years old. I can't imagine that a man who comes to stick to my house, I can't imagine what to do, "he concluded.

Seasoned actor Agus Kuncoro has again given his views on the profession that has made his name for decades. In a statement, Agus, who continues to exist in the world of cinema, revealed how the world of acting has become a field of learning without stopping, which has made him continue to grow from time to time.

"As an actor, yes, being someone else is fun and paid for it, then I continue to learn because when I get a new role I also have to learn, right, so what does he do with his education, what does he do, even though he becomes a doctor, like it or not, I have to know how the doctor uses his stethoscope, don't go far to hold the thermometer or how else does he examine his patient, I have to learn it like that when I have to be a motorcycle racer," said Agus Kuncoro.

"So (being an actor) always learns a lot every day, what are all kinds of knowledge, whether from the scenario I can learn or from the scope of the actor, where I really have to learn because I have to need research, everything needs research," he said.

Even though he has played various characters throughout his career, Agus admits that all characters always bring each other's charm. However, since the beginning of his career, he has the principle that the power of the story is the main thing in him choosing a film project.

"Almost all the characters are actually interesting, everything is interesting, almost everything in the end depends on the story, so it's true that the most important thing for me is the story, the story and how the character can live in that story," explained Agus.

When asked about the legacy he wanted to leave in acting, Agus answered with enthusiasm while flashbacks of his career journey where he was one of the people who had the opportunity to try interesting stories for the first time.

"I always like something new, but almost that has been done, it's a lot in the soap opera world, so I like the first one like that, so I like something fresh. So when people have never made soap operas like the Crown of Mayangkara, kingdoms are like that, but with strong research at that time I played there, "said Agus Kuncoro.

"Then when there was a soap opera, it was called A Sacred Secret, the main thing is that you did the world's crime, it was immediately buried, even then I was the first person who did it, then at that time I also played again The Seekers of God were fresh, right? how is Islam displayed so beautifully and communally, as well as the World Behind it I did there too, "he continued.

"So what legacy do I want to live in? That there are so many spaces, there are so many worlds that can be added, which can actually be explored because this is without limits, especially if the story is not finished, right," concluded Agus Kuncoro.
