Exclusive Titi Kamal Acting In Religious Dramas To Missing 'Symptomatic'

JAKARTA - For more than 20 years, Titi Kamal has been pursuing a career as an actress. He has bribed various genres, making them one of the relevant figures even in 2025.

Lately, he has taken a lot of roles in the religious genre, both horror and drama. Likewise with the latest film he has played entitled Tabayyun, which he plays Zalina.

The figure of Zalina in the film Tabbayun is said to have suffered harm in life because of her relationship with her husband which ended. Zalina tried to get up taking care of her own child, until one day she got into a relationship with the child of her superior in her office.

"The difference... So in this film the story is different from Tears in Ujung Sajadah'. In tears, the figure of Aqilah (the role played by Titi Kamal) is a figure whose education is high and he has sadness and he can't be near his son and he's alone," Titi Kamal told VOI some time ago.

"If Zalina is unlucky in terms of her life ambition, her environment is not too conducive for her to continue to grow because an incident in her life suddenly destroyed, so you could say there are many differences. Maybe her sadness can be said to be much more depressed than Aqilah," said Titi again.

Titi as the main character admitted that there were many moments when she had a Tabayyun like the film she played. For him, the films he plays are not just acting but can be a reflection of the real world.

"So sometimes because the information window is really wide, so we scroll a little bit, we see the news of A, Si B, Si C, and then we are in our hearts like 'Eh, is that true, isn't it, really'. If for example we don't have tabayyun, it's really dangerous because I'm afraid it's slander or hoax, so it's really sad because I'll believe all the news later without knowing the truth, it's a sin," explained Titi about Tabayyun.

The actress who was born on December 7 said that of course there are challenges in playing a role in religious films, especially those related to the interaction of the opposite sex. In this film, Titi Kamal collides with Ibrahim Risyad who has a fairly long life distance with her.

"Because Zalina is wearing a hijab, so we have to have limits too, to maintain it, but how can the chemistry be well established just by looking at him, from our movements without having to be touched," he explained.

"That's the challenge again because the age difference is quite far from the original, so we also have to get to know more so that chemistry can also be done. I know Ohim better, chat more, more open discussion so that we can find the same frequency when we have a scene, "said the wife of Christian Sugiono.

Unlike Ohim, Titi Kamal actually found it easy to have a scene with Naysilla Mirdad, even though both were told to compete for the character played by Ibrahim Risyad.

"Outside of the acting role, we are bestie, we are friends. We have a gang, called Cikung. Often traveling to Bali, Bajo everywhere get closer together, it's easier for his chemistry and I see Naysilla as a professional figure, her acting is really good, so the audience is excited by her acting," said Titi Kamal.

Titi Kamal was once a feminimous woman in the film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (2002), Eiffel Im in Love (2003), and Barbi3 (2008). He is also called iconic after playing the role of a dancer in the film Suddenly Dangdut (2006).

Different from before, lately she has played a lot of roles as a mother or chose a religious genre, but the mother of two is actually very open to various roles.

"Actually, I was open to various roles, told to vaccinate, told to be a scavenger, once a special person, so I want to explore as much as possible, but it just so happens that in recent years, the script offered to me is what I am interested in and need me in the part that allows me," he said with a laugh.
