Ballerina Film Review: Ana De Armas Unjuk Taring Akting Dan Aksi Terbaik

JAKARTA - Ana de Armas joins the world John Wick in the film Ballerina. The film, directed by Len Wiseman, takes the story set by John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum.

Keanu Reeves as John Wick also features at least a part of his world, but this time we will get acquainted with the figure of Eve Macarro who is no less impressive than John Wick.

Ballerina (2025) tells the story of Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who witnessed her father being killed when she was a child. At that time, she did not know who had the heart to end the life of the person who tried to save her. Eve was brought by someone until years later she grew up to be a strong woman.

Eve in adulthood is one of the killers of the Ruska Roma group who also practiced ballet. Eve went through various missions and competed with other balets'.

Behind her persistence, Eve tries to find the person who killed her father. There were no clear clues but thanks to her interaction with Ruska Roma, she began to find clues.

The struggle did not stop there, because Eve was faced with a situation that often threatened her life. Eve is determined to finish it before her life is over.

After several less impressive roles, Ana de Armas finally showed her abilities and acting. Her persistence in the process of transforming into Eve, which is not only tough but fragile, makes her stunning.

The plot does not have a refresher but does not mean the story is not interesting to follow. Various action scenes are one of the fun aspects, especially if you enjoy a long action scene.

It is difficult to call Ana de Armas the female version of John Wick because she is not as good as Keanu Reeves in the action scene, but de Armas still displays his best action.

Likewise with the acting of Anjelica Huston, Norman Reedus, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Gabriel Amaz, and Keanu Reeves. The excitement started since the first minute this film started, making sure you don't let go of the cinema screen.

Ballerina is expanding the world of John Wick and the story of the clan that has the potential to capture new fans after being amazed by Ana de Armas' performance.

The Ballerina film opens in Indonesian cinemas starting Wednesday, June 4 with a D17+ rating.
