Kim Go Eun Confirmed Joining Yumi's Cells 3, Releases 2026

JAKARTA - The third season of the Korean drama Yumi's Cells is confirmed to continue with the main character, Kim Go Eun. tvN announced that the actress was returning to play Yumi's character.

Yumi's Cells is a webtoon adaptation drama of the same name that tells the journey of Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and cells in the brain that manage every feeling and action of Yumi in everyday life. Her first two seasons were successful in Korea and globally.

The third season will be directed by Lee Sang Yeob and written by Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran. Later, the story will focus on Yumi who realizes her dreams as a writer, but a romance story makes everything change.

The love story also builds a group of brain cells who also play a supporting role in this story. Apart from Kim Go Eun, it is not yet known who will play the other characters.

"I feel honored and grateful to be able to continue Yumi's story which is loved by the audience," said Kim Go Eun.

"As an actor, playing the same character for a long period of time is very meaningful and special," he continued.

This third season also highlighted Yumi as an adult figure, different from her first two cheerfuler seasons.

I want to take pictures of various changes in Yumi's life as she grew over the years through the third season. The journey with Yumi started in 2021, I hope to finish well," said Kim Go Eun.

Meanwhile, the drama Yumi's Cells 3 is planned to air in the first half of 2026.
