Ambon Wins Best Art Performance Award At The National Cultural Event

JAKARTA - Culture is not only an ancestral heritage, but also a representation of the identity and spirit of society.

Ambon City, Maluku Province, again shows its existence as a city rich in arts and culture by winning the best performing award at a national cultural exhibition held by the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI) in Surabaya.

Head of the Ambon City Tourism and Culture Office, Rico Hayat, expressed his gratitude for this achievement. He also appreciated the full support from the Mayor of Ambon and the Chair of the TP-PKK from the preparation stage until the show took place.

"We are very grateful for this achievement. Thank you to the Mayor of Ambon and the Chairperson of the TP-PKK who from the start have fully supported the process to the implementation of the stage. This award is the result of the hard work of the entire team," said Head of the Ambon City Tourism and Culture Office, Rico Hayat in a written statement received in Ambon, as quoted by ANTARA.

Ambon managed to attract the attention of the jury and visitors through a modern choreography combination with harmonious traditional dances, as well as stunning vocal performances. The slick collaboration between the artist Usi Selly Ambon, Fresly Nikijuluw and Friends, Amboina Voice, and Amboina Dancer reinforces the deep impression on the performance.

For this success, Ambon City was named the city with the best artistic performances at the Indonesian International Arts Festival. Rico stated that this award cannot be separated from the creativity and commitment of the artists involved.

He emphasized that this achievement is a motivation to continue to innovate in preserving and developing local culture. "Next year the challenges are bigger. We must be better prepared, more creative, and continue to strengthen our cultural identity," he said.

Rico also expressed his appreciation to the participants from other regions who also displayed their respective cultural wealth, as well as thanks to the Ambon diaspora community who were present to provide direct support to the team.

According to him, this participation and award reiterated Ambon's position as a city worthy of being dubbed an art and cultural center at the national level.
