20 Years Together, Super Junior's Sungmin Leaves SM Entertainment

JAKARTA - Sungmin, a member of the Super Junior group, officially ended his contract with SM Entertainment. After 20 years of joining, he decided not to renew the contract.

"We want to inform you that our exclusive contract with our artist Sungmin is over," SM Entertainment said on Wednesday, April 30.

"We thank Sungmin for being with us for more than 20 years, from trainee day to activity as an artist," he said.

In short, the agency hopes fans can support Sungmin's new journey both as a singer and a theater actor.

We will continue to support Sungmin's music and its new beginning. We ask for your support for Sungmin in the future, thank you," he said.

Sungmin debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005. Sungmin is active in promotions until 2014.

In December 2014, Sungmin married his girlfriend, actress Kim Sa Eun. After completing his military service, Sungmin was more active as a soloist than promoting with Super Junior.

He also founded the Liu Studio YouTube channel which contains daily life and the events he made. Sungmin also released his first solo album, Orgel.

In 2023, Sungmin officially penetrated the Trot genre by launching his first single as a Trot singer, Lovesick.

A year later, he announced the birth of his first child with Kim Sa Eun.
